Sofía Rodríguez Serrador is a Lecturer (Profesora Permanente Laboral) at the University of Valladolid, where she obtained her PhD in History (Cum Laude) with an International Mention. She is a member of the Simancas University Institute of History and currently participates as a researcher in two projects at the university: "Mujeres, Familia y Sociedad. La construcción de la historia social desde la cultura jurídica, ss. XVI-XX”, and “El factor católico y la libertad de pensamiento en las guerras culturales de la Europa Occidental Contemporánea (1789-1989)”.
In 2017, Prof. Rodríguez Serrador joined the Research Group "Asociacionismo y acción colectiva en Castilla”, and since March 2022, she has been part of the Research Group “Sociedad y Conflicto desde la Edad Moderna a la Contemporaneidad”, both affiliated with the University of Valladolid.
Her research focuses on sociocultural history, education, political conflict, and gender history in the contemporary era. She specialises in the late 19th century and the period spanning from the Primo de Rivera dictatorship to early Francoism. She is co-author of two books (with Professor Jesús María Palomares), has edited several monographs, and has published numerous chapters in specialist volumes and high-impact journal articles. Among her recent publications, the article “Un juego de resistencias. La nueva mujer a finales de la sociedad decimonónica” (El futuro del pasado) stands out.
Prof. Dr. Rodríguez Serrador has organised national and international academic events, including the "En el 90 aniversario de la Ley de Divorcio" (November 2022), and the "Congreso Internacional: Recordando a la I República en su 150º aniversario (1873-2023): política y cultura" (November 2023),
Additionally, she has participated in public outreach activities, such as a feature on Radio Euskadi dedicated to "Las modernas: mujeres de los años 20".
